Polar Verity Sense: advantages for swimming

Polar Verity Sense measures your heart rate trend during your swimming workouts. Its great advantage, compared to other sensors, is that it can be worn on the temple, thanks to the practical goggle clip included. In the pool, it also measures swim distance and pace.

Thanks to connectivity with Bluetooth Smart (up to two devices at the same time) and ANT +, Polar Verity Sense is compatible with sports watches, bike computers, gym equipment or training apps, on which to view your heart rate in real time during workouts. Or, it can also be used alone thanks to the internal memory that records up to 600 hours of training, and then download the data later on Polar Flow.

Swimming Mania Test on Polar Verity Sense

The Polar Verity Sense has been tested and validated by Dr. Gian Maria D'Amici, Chief NU Technical Coach (SNAQ) (N), 2nd Level Coach (N) of the Italian Swimming Federation. • that the readings are not affected by artifacts related to body movements;
• that the sensor, placed under the swimming cap, has limited contact with chlorinated water;

Training in swimming mode

Before you can log a swimming session with Polar Verity Sense, it must be registered and linked to a Polar Flow account. This is done during the initial setup. For details, see Configuring Polar Verity Sense.
Verity Sense automatically records heart rate, distance and pace in the pool with the specific swim mode. Distance and pace calculations are based on the pool length set and the number of turns detected. The sensor detects turns via an integrated gyroscope. To get the most accurate swim metrics, it is essential to wear the sensor correctly.
If necessary, you can change the pool length setting after the swimming session from the training analysis in the Flow app so that the swimming metrics are updated accordingly.

• Turn on Verity Sense by pressing the; button
• select swim mode by briefly pressing the button until the LED next to the swim icon lights up. When you select swim mode, the status LED on the side glows white;
  
  
• after selecting the mode, wait until all six LEDs light up. The sensor is then ready for heart rate measurement;
  
  
• put on the sensor and start the training session;
  
  

At the end of your training session, you can stop recording by pressing the button until the LEDs go out. Then synchronize the training session with the app or the Flow Web service to view the details of the session. The sensor automatically syncs with the Polar Flow app when you stop recording if the smartphone is within range of the Bluetooth signal. For more information, see Synching.
